ay Hoosier Cruisers traveled to the Cardinal Ethanol Plant which converts corn into ethanol and other products. Wearing hard hats and safety glasses the tour began. Jim Seifert explained the complex process and summarized some of the facts about the plant. The Cardinal Ethanol began production at its ethanol plant in East Central Indiana, near Union City on November 1, 2008. The plant is expected to use 36 million bushels of corn and produce 100 million gallons of ethanol, along with 320,000 tons of dried distillers grains. That's a lot of ethanol from corn. The weekend also featured many vintage racecars that were displayed and most driven on the track to show them off to the fans. The cars featured many different types of cars including sprint cars, midgets and old stock cars. As you can see the Hoosier Cruisers had some die hard fans and braved the cold.
