Great Fun in Portland

Hoosier Cruisers who attended the September rally had a great time due to the efforts of the Boyers and Rusters.  The rally was well attended with over 20 coaches in attendance at Jay County Fairgrounds.

The rally began with a tour of the Jay County Historical Museum.  There were many exhibits and something for everyone from antique farm machinery to household items from the past.  It also houses a genealogy collection that is open to the public. Members enjoyed wandering through the museum at their own pace.

Friday afternoon the club visited an Amish oil stove factory.  They make all the parts and each stove is hand built by craftsmen.  It was interesting to see the large stamping machines which are run by compressed air stamping the needed parts.  Some of the machines were made in the early 1900's and are still going strong.

On Saturday Hoosier Cruisers visited a vineyard and tasted wine.

The rally masters and assistant rally masters provided excellent meals including a pancake breakfast, a fried chicken dinner with sides, and a picnic dinner with grilled hamburgers.  Many thanks go to their efforts for a successful rally.
