Come join us for a weekend of exploring the historic town of Crawfordsville, IN in Montgomery County. Sugar Creek Campground is a family-owned campground which was established in 2003. Weather permitting, there are many activities including canoeing, fishing and water activities. This area is full of historical sites including a rotary jail, museums and historic homes. Many things that are highlighted refer to a famous author who lived in Crawfordsville—Lew Wallace. He is best known for writing, Ben Hur. He was a pallbearer for Abraham Lincoln’s funeral. Wabash College campus and Carnegie Library Museum are a must to see. For more information about Lew Wallace’s’ life, go to the internet to learn more about this man’s very interesting life. We would like to invite you to camp with us at Shakamak State Park. 😊 We will be arriving Tuesday, April 19th with a departure date of Sunday, April 24th.
